The Mixed Reality for Blood Donation Experience is an immersive digital experience designed to improve the blood donation process, attract new donors and motivate a younger generation to give blood. Mixed reality is a blend of physical and digital worlds, unlocking natural and intuitive 3D human, computer, and environmental interactions.

You must meet all eligibility requirements for blood, platelet, or plasma donation. Actual eligibility to participate will be determined when you present to donate.
The Microsoft HoloLens 2 was chosen because it has a translucent lens that allows you to see your current environment. If you or any of your relatives have a history of seizures or epilepsy, consult a doctor. If you use a medical device other than a pacemaker, consult the device manufacturer or your physician for information and instructions about the use of other electronic devices near your medical device.
We’ve incorporated optional subtitles into the mixed reality experience so individuals who are hearing impaired can participate.
Donors with eyeglasses may wish to remove them, but the device can operate as normal with them on.
